Separated at Birth

Shibu Soren

Shibu Soren(JMM Chief)

Abhijit Sen

Abhijit Sen,Professor JNU

Can we assume my enlightened readership knows about Shibu Soren and why he is very crucial, as of now, for the Government? We can’t?

(Seriously guys, stop reading this blog and pick up a copy of the Outlook, sheesh!!!)

And to think he is a murderer, not even a member of the Lok Sabha and the Prime Minister might have to kow-tow to his demands. In return for his 5 votes of the JMM party, all he wants is a Cabinet berth, thank you please. And that will be the coal ministry ,if you don’t mind.

Last I heard the BJP could only offer him the post of CM of Jharkhand.Raw deal ,I would say for a murderer,no?

AND,now coming to the person in the right (or bottom depending on wordpress and its vagaries, I am not able to format this ,helppppppppppp!!!).That was my dear old professor in JNU.A legend so to say.hard core leftist, khadi brigade, pot smoking ,rockstar professor, with an impeccable accent and an ever smiling face, even if you enter the class 5 minutes before its due to get over,as yours truly had once done.

He is currently a member of the Planning Commission. His wife Jayati Ghosh, herself is a well known economist and was also our professor in JNU.Haven’t heard of her? Pick up a copy of the Frontline, she writes a column there.Rather used to when I was a regular reader of Frontline.Actually,I am as guilty of not reading magazines these days. No, I will not make your job easier by adding links which I know you will anyway not bother to click.

Does India Today still have the “Separated at Birth “column? Remember ? It used to be somewhere in the back pages where they will show the profile of two celebrities with similar faces

They don’t? Damn I am always late.

Well, you could try resizing the picture to make them appear adjacent to each other.

And if Pratibha Patil can be President, why are we expected to be surprised by Soren-ji’s demands?

Isn’t it strange? I just post about how I am way behind when it comes to Indian politics, and the same day, the little sis challenges her readers how much they know about Shibu Soren. Coincidence? or sisterly connection? 🙂
